History
Wuhan University’s roots go way back to 1893. That’s when a guy named Zhang Zhidong, who was governor of a couple provinces, started a school called Ziqiang Institute. Over time, the school changed names a few times, but by 1928, it became Wuhan National University, which is one of the leading universities in modern China.
